Anna Sewell author
Born in England in 1820, Anna Sewell developed a special relationship with horses due to the fact that she was disabled and reliant on them for transportation. This caused her to notice just how often horses were treated cruelly. Eventually, she put her feelings into words when she wrote the classic Black Beauty, which provoked a great deal of improvement in the treatment of horses and other animals as well.
