Born in New York City, Marisabina Russo got her start as an illustrator doing covers and illustrations for The New Yorker
, but she'd already resolved in her time at Mount Holyoke College that she wanted to make children's books. Her first book, The Line Up Book
, which she both wrote and illustrated, has had an incredible thirty year print run and remains in print today. Since then, she has written or illustrated dozens of picture books, including award winners like Time to Wake Up!
and A Visit to Oma
