Ron Brooks illustrator
One of Australia's best-known illustrators, Ron Brooks was born in New South Wales, Australia in 1948 and studied the visual arts at Swinburne University and RMIT University. Brooks is best known for the picture book, John Brown, Rose and the Midnight Cat, written by Jenny Wagner, but has illustrated many other books, including several award-winners. Now a resident of Tasmania, Brooks continues to write, design and illustrate picture books. He explains, "that passion of involvement [in the picture book world] has more to do with the wonder of what happens between good writing, good pictures and the young reader."
