Susan Marie Swanson writes poetry and picture books, sometimes combining the two.She was raised outside Chicago, where at ten years old, she published her first piece of writing in the weekly town newspaper. Beyond writing picture books, Swanson teaches at various programs for young people, encouraging writing.
